Laxmi est une variante orthographique de Lakshmi, l'un des noms les plus vénérés de la tradition sud-asiatique. Issu du mot sanskrit lakṣmī — signifiant «signe auspicieux» ou «bonne fortune» — le nom appartient à la principale déesse hindoue de la richesse, de la prospérité et de la beauté. L'orthographe préférée en hindi en fait la forme courante choisie par des millions de familles en Inde et au Népal.
