Mohammad es una de las variantes ortográficas más extendidas de Muhammad, el nombre árabe derivado de la raíz semítica ḥ-m-d (حمد), que significa 'alabar' o 'ser alabado'. Tiene una profunda significación religiosa como nombre del Profeta Mahoma (c. 570–632 d.C.), fundador del Islam.
