Taís es la variante portuguesa del antiguo nombre griego Thaïs, con raíces que evocan sanación y restauración. Desde la hetaira ateniense que acompañó a Alejandro Magno hasta la santa penitente de Alejandría y la protagonista de la ópera de Massenet, el nombre ha acumulado riqueza a lo largo de los siglos.
