Eoghan est un ancien prénom gaélique irlandais, souvent anglicisé en Owen ou Eugène, dont les racines remontent probablement au vieil irlandais « óg » signifiant « jeune » ou peut-être au grec « eugenes » signifiant « bien né » ou « noble ».
